Come in from the Cold
The common cold could soon become quite rare: MIT researchers have created a drug that may defeat a broad spectrum of viruses, including rhinoviruses and H1N1 influenza.The drug contains proteins that target and destroy infected cells but leave healthy cells unscathed, says study author Todd Rider, Ph.D. Additional tests on sniffily, sneezy mice are under way. 11/29/2011
